An internal practice management tool to track client proposals
The Company
FD Works, based in Bristol in the UK, offers accounting, and business advisory services and are Xero specialists. The company was established in 2012 with the aim of providing ambitious businesses with hands-on finance support and strategic advice.

FD Works primarily uses Noloco as an internal practice management tool to keep track of proposals made to clients and relevant pieces of work. For example, they track when client VAT returns are due each quarter and show a field with days remaining until each deadline. The app enables them to collect all the information they need and organise their schedules.

The Challenge
Before adopting Noloco, their main concern towards spreadsheets was that they had no ability to determine where clients could input information and the quality of the inputs.

As a result, they started using Airtable, but they had trouble getting their team to adopt it as they found it to be too complicated. This meant that they still hadn't achieved Managing Director Jonathan Gaunt's goal of keeping everything updated and organised in one place.

This led them to search for a solution to make their Airtable data more accessible to their team. They found Noloco to be the ideal answer while they were trying to build a front end.

The Solution
Ultimately FD Works used Noloco to build a professional front end on top of their Airtable base.

By using Noloco, they removed all the complexity the team previously struggled with in Airtable and made it a lot easier to update information. By limiting who could see what, they were able to provide each team member with exactly the information they needed to make the best decisions every day.

Additionally, they were able to use Noloco’s workflows within these processes, which increased their productivity and helped them save time.

The Results
By using Noloco, FD Works managed to get better adoption from their team and also have been able to control who sees what data. This has led them to become much more organised and ensures that everyone has the right information at hand when making decisions.

These benefits have led FD Works to actively drive more and more of the conversation and collaboration into Noloco. As well as their core internal tool, they also plan to create a customer portal with Noloco to further improve their client experience.
